Membrane synthesis by microemulsion polymerisation stabilised by commercial non-ionic surfactants

چکیده
Earlier works had demonstrated that microemulsion polymerisation is a well suited technique to produce nanostructured membranes if surfmers (polymerisable surfactants) are used to stabilise the primary template (sponge phase microemulsion). Up to now, however, same hadn’t been done using common surfactants. Present work aims to show this is possible if proper surfactants are selected. Specific formulation selection was done by means of phase diagram. Phase diagram was obtained by conductivity, surface tension and QELS measurements through several dilution lines. Polymerisation region was selected from phase diagram were no globular system was observed. Membranes were characterised by SEM, DSC and permeation experiments.

Anionic/Non-ionic Surfactants in Aqueous Phase of Thin Film Composite Poly(Paraphenylene Terephthalamide) Nanofiltration Membranes
In this work, the Interfacial interfacial polymerization (IP) technique was employed using terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) and p-phenylenediamine (PPD), as reactant monomers, to prepare poly(paraphenylene terephthalamide) thin film composite (TFC) nanofiltration on polyethersulphone (PES) support layer. The effects of six different anionic and non-ionic surfactants, in the aqueous phase on the mor...

In this study, tretinoin microemulsion has been formulated based on phase diagram studies by changing the amounts and proportions of inactive ingredients, such as surfactants, co-surfactants and oils. The effects of these variables have been determined on microemulsion formation, particle size of the dispersed phase and release profile of tretinoin from microemulsion through dialysis membrane. ...

Ionic liquids are receiving much attention as environmentally benign media for reactions, separations, and multidisciplinary chemistry, due to their unique physicochemical properties which include non-volatility, high stability, high ionic conductivity, wide electrochemical window and easy recyclability. We summarize herein microemulsion formulations and applications where ionic liquids are use...
متن کاملIn-vitro release and oral bioactivity of insulin in diabetic rats using nanocapsules dispersed in biocompatible microemulsion.
This study evaluated the potential of poly(iso-butyl cyanoacrylate) (PBCA) nanocapsules dispersed in a biocompatible microemulsion to facilitate the absorption of insulin following intragastric administration to diabetic rats. Insulin-loaded PBCA nanocapsules were prepared in-situ in a biocompatible water-in-oil microemulsion by interfacial polymerisation. The microemulsion consisted of a mixtu...
